Atlas Mountains
Morocco
The Atlas Mountain Range stretches over 16,000 miles throughout the countries of Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. The highest peak in the range is Jebel Toubakal, which is over 13,000 feet tall. The mountain is specifically in the southwest corner in Morocco. The mountain separates the Mediterranean and the Atlantic coasts. The Atlas Mountains are home to many endangered species, unique to Africa.

The Atlas Mountains are home to loads of iron, lead, silver, rock salt and marble. The mountains are believed to be formed during the Precambrian period. The were formed when the Americas and Africa collided. The Appalachians were also formed from the Americas and Africa colliding. The Atlas Range once rivaled the Himalayas is size and stature, but have decreased in size over time.
